How Can fever In A Infant be Treated?

Hello Dr. Rynne, Baby is 8 months old and has a fever on and off since Sunday. We took her to the doctor on Monday and she does not have the flu or strep. She still has a fever. When do we need to take her back to the doctor to look for another possible cause of fever other than a cold?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Fever which lasts longer than 3 days should be consulted with a doctor. Very common reason of fever in her age is urinary tract infection. It can give no other symptoms or symptoms which you wont be able to notice.
That is why I suggest you to have at least her urine checked.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
